How our pricing worksOne tray is stones. One tray is settings, bands and stackables. The book has the rest of them. You sit at the desk and we build the ring in front of you — this stone, that setting, this band next to it — until you’re looking at the thing you’re actually going to buy.
Nobody hands you a computer drawing. You’re holding the pieces. And if the setting you want isn’t in the book, we’ll make it.
Every one of these runs from a plain band you’d wear to work to a stone that lives in a safe.
If it’s a big stone, or if the paper matters to you, say so and we’ll have it graded by an outside lab. We’ll also tell you straight when it isn’t worth doing on that particular stone.
A lot of what we sell has never been near a lab, and that’s what buying from a wholesaler looks like — you’re paying for the stone, not for the report that came with it. Come up and we’ll put three side by side under one light. You’ll see it yourself.
Appointment, or can I just come up?+
Either — but call before you come. We’re a working office and we’re in and out. A minute on the phone saves you the drive, and it means the trays are already on the desk when you get here.
How long does a ring take?+
Usually about a week. The stone and the setting are normally already here, so it’s a matter of setting it and finishing it. Something drawn from scratch takes longer — a few weeks, sometimes closer to two months. We’ll tell you which one you’re in before you leave.
Can I use a diamond or gold I already have?+
Yes, and people do it constantly. Bring the piece up and we’ll look at it with you. Resetting a stone into something you’d actually wear is one of the most common things we do.
Do you have lab-grown?+
We do. Ask and we’ll price both next to each other. Whatever you end up looking at, we’ll tell you exactly which one it is.
We’ll put the stones on camera.
Tell us the shape and the number you’re working with and we’ll call you from the case. Four or five stones, on a hand, next to each other — so you can see the difference between them instead of reading about it.
